About

This site is a place where we can share experiences of the people of Dutchtown, Georgia, a community of people who have lived in and around Jonesboro Road in what is technically considered Hampton, Georgia. We want to preserve the history and stories of the people who have lived and are living here.

I will be posting a topic and an associated blog post. Feel free to add your story in the comments or email your story to me at donniechaffin@charter.net, and I will add it. If you have ideas about future topics, email that to me too.

Where exactly is Dutchtown? That’s a tough question with no absolute answer. Most people consider Dutchtown to be part of the old Henry County Sixth Militia District or Georgia Militia District 486. The western border is the county line between Henry and Clayton counties. The other borders are very rough estimations – the southern border around Conkle Road, north of Hampton, the northern border around Jodeco Road, south of Stockbridge, and the eastern border around Interstate 75, west of McDonough.
